Time To Go Green With Our New and Used Electric & Hybrid Models At Nissan

Electric & Hybrid Cars

It was something of the future, but now it’s very much here. Switching to an electric or hybrid car is now the norm with most manufacturers developing new and innovative vehicles featuring mind-blowing technology, greater range, and super-efficient hybrid engines.

With manufacturers racing to meet the 2030 deadline of no new internal combustion engined cars, consumers are now spoilt for choice! With low or zero road tax, zero emissions, and most important of all, cheaper running costs than your standard Petrol or Diesel Motors, the benefits of a hybrid or electric motor are endless and make it an even easier choice to switch.

Best Of Both Worlds

If you are not fully ready yet to commit to electric, switching to a hybrid vehicle is a good way to make the transition, without going straight foot to the floor. Providing the reassurance of a traditional petrol or diesel engine, hybrids also have an electric motor that is charged using the energy created from the engine and also lost when slowing down or braking. Hybrids also offer a small electric range of up to 30miles, which is perfect for nipping around town and also helps them benefit from lower road tax compared to petrol and diesel cars.

Ways to charge your Electric vehicle

Home Charging

CHARGING AT HOME

Having a home charger installed has never been easier, and once installed, you only need to pay for the electricity you use whilst your vehicle is on charge.

The most convenient way to fully charge your electric vehicle is to plug it in overnight, so that it’s always ready to go as soon as you are. With a Nissan ARIYA for instance, you’d have a full charge in the morning with a range of up to 329 miles.

85% of Nissan LEAF owners choose to charge their cars at home and we recommend installing a 7kW home charger from one of our partners, EON Drive or Pod Point.

INSTALLING A CHARGER

We have a number of home charger options available, all of which include standard installation from trained technicians. They also include up to five year’s warranty and come with a charging app allowing you complete control when you charge your electric vehicle.

CHARGING WITH A THREE PIN PLUG

It is perfectly possible to charge your electric vehicle with a standard 3-pin socket charger cable. It is however, the least efficient and most time-consuming way. A dedicated home charger is the safest, quickest and most cost-efficient way to charge your electric vehicle from the comfort of your home.

There are more than 53,000 charging points in the UK. In fact, there are now more charging points across the UK than there are petrol stations.

Nissan works with ZapMap, an app that displays all UK charging locations and other information you need such as charging point availability. With many different networks in the UK, Zap-Pay makes charging payment simple. It means you can search, plan and pay for charging quickly and easily, all within the Zapmap app. Even better, you can also use Apple Pay and Google Pay on Zap-Pay chargers across the country.
