Cars2 Introducing: 2023 Renault Megane E-Tech Electric

Here at Renault, we are thrilled to announce that the Renault Megane is going fully electric for its next-generation model in 2023!

Although there is not yet a confirmed pricing structure, early indications show that the 2023 Renault Megane E-Tech will be available for around £35,000. As we say goodbye to the regular internal combustion engine, we say hello to an electrically powered motor with 218hp and an impressive 282 miles of range!

Design

The Renault Megane E-Tech has had a full redesign, propelling it into the 21st century and beyond. The new Megane E-Tech looks very different to any of its predecessors.

At the front, new ultra-thin LED headlights steal the show, including newly implemented and dramatically designed daytime running lights. This model will also host a debut to the new retro-looking Renault badge which can also be found on the charging flap.

As with any car in the Renault range, the 2023 Megane E-Tech electric will be available in multiple specs. The entry-level spec will feature 18" alloys, however, if you choose to move up the grades you can opt for 20" variants.

A black contrast roof and rear-stretching brake lights also make a build feature in this new model.

Interior Design and Infotainment

What is a futuristic car without modern comforts and entertainment? There is no need to worry as the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric boasts a whole range of comfort and technology features to keep you occupied.

With renewable energy being the theme, the new Megane will also have interior features made from recycled materials - not that you would be able to tell! If this isn't for you, Renault will also be offering leather on their top-spec models.

The 12-inch infotainment system is built upon a new state of the art android platform. The benefits of this are that google maps are fully integrated into the operating system and at no extra cost. This includes automatic updates and a seamless experience.

On to the more practical matters... The New Megane will have a new rearview mirror which offers a display linked to a reversing camera which will make manoeuvring that little bit easier.

There isn't too much change in boot size on the new model, however, Renault have added 6 litres more than the current version. The New 2023 Renault Megane E-Tech Electric will now offer 440 litres of boot space.

Renault Megane E-Tech Electric Motors & Performance

The new Renault Megane Electric will offer a choice of two power outputs which will depend on which spec you purchase. Both versions use a single motor system, one with 130bhp and one with 218bhp.

The 218bhp version can switch from 0-60mph in 7.4 seconds.

Range and batteries

There is also a pick of 2 battery pack options, one with a 40kWh unit which will take you 186 miles on a full charge, and one with 60kWh rising to 292 miles per charge. Both of these come with an 8-year warranty for extra peace of mind.

Price and Release Date

Despite the name, you will be able to buy the 2023 Renault Megane E-Tech Electic car in late 2022, although no official date has been set. There are no official prices either, but we expect prices to range from £35,000 to £45,000.
