We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Preparation Technician to join our team, based at our Barnsley Sites . This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm and alternate Saturday mornings.

Job Title: Preparation Technician

Responsibilities:

-· Use your technical knowledge and skills;

· Work independently in a busy, active environment. Interpret and implement technical information;

· Carry out repairs to safety / MOT / manufacturer / warranty standards;

· Diagnose standard faults and have excellent working methods & standards;

· Reports faults and service requirements to the Workshop Controller;

· Obtain appropriate authorisation if additional work is required on a vehicle;

· Undertake vehicle road testing for diagnosis and to test repairs;

· You believe in the ‘fixed first visit’ approach;

· Servicing, repairs, PDI’s on new and used vehicles;

· Be open to try new methods of work designed to improve efficiency;

· Apply learning and experience when diagnosing faults.

Requirements:

· Possess good communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to colleagues and customers accurately and concisely;

· Quality focused with first time fix mentality;

· Honest with high levels of integrity;

· Team Player – assist other technicians when workshop is under pressure, and take ownership of any safety issues you identify in the workshop;

· Thorough and able to work with defined processes and guidelines;

· Customer focused, able to keep customers experience and safety in mind throughout the service or diagnosis and repair;

· Passionate about the industry, and committed to the development of your technical knowledge and skills.
