What is A Clean Air Zone?

A clean air zone has been brought into Bradford to help improve the air quality in the area and charges have been put in place for any vehicle that exceeds the emission standard set in that zone. Example of these are located around the UK, such as Birmingham, Bristol, Bath and Portsmouth. Each zone is given a class from A to D depending on how strict the zone is. Experts are predicting that more and more of these zones will open across the UK, in places like Greater Manchester and Sheffield expected to come in 2023, meaning drivers needs to think ahead and start considering their vehicle choice to avoid future charges.

Class Vehicle Type
